I completed the University of Colorado - Boulder School of Education's Elementary Education program with a 3.89 GPA in December 2015. I was included on the Dean's List, My coursework at the CU-Boulder School of Education included: Elementary Mathematics, Elementary Writing, Elementary Reading, and Elementary Science. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Davidson College in Davidson, NC in 2009. Davidson College is consistently ranked in the top ten liberal arts colleges in the United States.
Experience
I am a Lead Fourth Grade Classroom Teacher at Pinnacle Charter School. I currently mentor a first year teacher. During the 2017-2018, my classroom had the highest number of students to reach NWEA MAPS test growth goals out of six Fourth Grade classes. I am certified to teach Kindergarten through Sixth Graders in Colorado. I have tutored Second through Sixth Grade children over the past four years! I currently tutor a Seventh Grader in reading and writing. I scored in the top 15% of test takers nationwide in the Praxis Elementary Teaching License Exam in 2014. Additionally, I passed the national educative Teacher Performance Assessment exam in Fall 2015. This capstone is a national assessment modeled after National Boards. It is a rigorous assessment of readiness to teach. Passing the "edTPA" demonstrates that I focus on engaging students in complex thinking. I have education and experience working with teens. Previously, I coordinated teen programs at the YWCA. I scored 700 in Verbal and 630 in Math on the SAT. I earned the International Baccalaureate Diploma in 2005.
