I have worked in University Writing Centers and led community Creative writing seminars for children ages 7-13 through the public library. In both cases, I have had a great deal of exposure teaching ESL, English as a Second language, individuals. I have been teaching at the university level for seven years, and have developed an expertise in teaching literature, writing, creative writing, as well as study skills and tips for organizing time and productivity. I am also a part time nanny, and I have accumulated countless hours working with children ages 4-12, thus I am skilled at speaking to and understanding the needs of children. As an aside, I was a trained professional rescuer for nearly a decade. While my CPR and First Aid training has lapsed, I have maintained a knowledgeable foundation in CPR and First aid skills.

Hobbies

I love cooking and baking! I also love the wonderful place we live, and I try to spend as much time as possible outside enjoying the mountains. In addition to that I love to read, and I spend a majority of my time writing my dissertation. I have two cats, but love dogs as well and am eager to get one someday. I also love the energy and inquiries that children bring to the world, and I spend a significant part of my free time nannying children as they are such an important part of the world.
